Airbus rolls out Kit digital signage solution

International aircraft manufacturer Airbus has rolled out a digital signage solution from video service provider Kit in a bid to improve its brand image.

The system delivers video marketing communications to customers via the company’s corporate website, it also pushes video content to YouTube and mobile applications.

The Kit digital software solution that enables the video streaming was developed and assembled by Kit, it transcodes the source file in any format to an MPEG format which is then pushed into the video asset manager part of the system which sits on the airbus server.

The solution also connects to Kit’s cloud solution which has a “strategic relationship” with YouTube according to Michel Meyer, Kit digital’s senior vice president of product management.

The solution includes an internal analytics tool which can assess how many people have watched the video and for how long.

The system can also integrate with external trackers where necessary such as that provided by analytics company Omniture.

The take up of Kit’s digital signage solution follows the rollout of a Kit internal communications system rollout by Airbus which began five or six years ago and has been extended to the UK, Germany and Spain.

Complete global rollout to 555 screens within the company will be finished by the end of this year.

Kit is also in the process of integrating a live broadcasting solution for Airbus that will enable marketing, internal communications and press conferences to be streamed live to mobiles or the corporate website. This technology will be implemented by next autumn.
