Expliseat

announces today the launch of the TITANIUM seat: a revolutionary 4kg per passenger patented technology that reduces seat weight by at least 50% for a fuel saving of 3% to 5%. This corresponds to a saving of $300,000 to $500,000 per year per aircraft. The seat is set to debut at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2013 in Hamburg, Germany.

TITANIUM seat achieves exceptional performance in robustness and maintenance costs with its combination of titanium-composite structure and ease of assembly (30 parts as opposed to the 500-piece average for a standard seat). It is the most durable seat on the market, withstanding up to 100,000 usage cycles, equivalent to 10 years of operation.

The 2-inch thick backrest is closely tailored to the human back for ideal comfort with additional legroom, while the technical textile absorbs impact and movements from passengers in the row behind.
The seat caters to economy class, short and medium haul airline operators, adaptable to single-aisle Airbus A320 and Boeing B737.

In the short term, Expliseat aims to achieve a backlog of 100 to 200 aircrafts in line with the company’s production capacity, with the ability to double its rate every 6 months thanks to its innovative industrial model.

Benjamin Saada, CEO of Expliseat, said: “The TITANIUM seat will finally allow passengers to enjoy traveling in economy class. Our entrepreneurial venture shows that it is possible to combine dynamism, advanced technologies, and manufacturing innovations in mass quantities.”
