Clark Co. airport work delayed by FAA furlough
A runway expansion at Clark County Regional Airport has been delayed by furloughs at the Federal Aviation Administration.
The News and Tribune reports that the airport’s plan to extend a runway is funded mostly by $11 million in FAA grants.
Because finance employees are among those furloughed, work has stopped on land acquisition and collecting construction bids.
Also, the airport’s utility bill due Aug. 15 is funded by a federal grant, and the furloughs could affect the airport’s ability to receive those funds.
