Ethiopian Continuing Its Expansion in Winter Season

Ethiopian Airlines is pleased to announce that it is continuing its expansion strategy in the winter season with additional frequencies to Honk Kong, Bangkok, Abidjan and Libreville, and the deployment of bigger capacity and technologically advanced modern 787 Dreamliner aircraft to Mumbai and Frankfurt.

Due to increase in demand, the airline will fly to Hong Kong daily and to Bangkok ten times a week, starting from November 23, 2012. With the recent addition of three weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur, Ethiopian is significantly expanding and deepening its network in the Far East, the fastest growing region in the world with rapidly increasing ties with Africa.

Similarly, the airline will be providing daily services to Libreville and Abidjan by deploying four additional flights to Abidjan as of 25 November 2012, and three more weekly frequencies to Libreville starting from 15 November 2012.

Ethiopian will also deploy bigger capacity aircraft to Mumbai and Frankfurt in the winter season by operating the ultra modern B787 Dreamliners.

Ethiopian is the first and only carrier in Africa to operate this game changer aircraft, the Dreamliner.

We are responding to the increased traffic between Africa and Asia by opening new routes, increasing frequencies and deploying bigger capacity aircraft. Despite the tough economic environment, we are harnessing our competitive edge by focusing on the fast growing traffic between Africa and Asia. The new flights will offer our passengers travelling between the two continents easy and convenient connection through our hub in Addis Ababa.

said Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines.

Ethiopian flies to 43 destinations in Africa and 18 destinations in Asia and the Middle East.
