New Moscow Regional Support Office to Serve Growing Bombardier Customers

Bombardier

Bombardier Aerospace today announced the opening of a new Regional Support Office (RSO) in Moscow. The RSO, operated by Bombardier Aerospace Services Russia LLC, will serve as a regional support hub for the growing number of commercial aircraft customers in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The new office complements Bombardier’s customer services expansion strategy and is the 11th regional support location for Bombardier customers to open outside North America in the past four years.

The new RSO is located at Denisovskiy Pereulok, 26, 105005 Moscow. When fully staffed in the coming months, the office will also grow to include support resources for operators of Bombardier business aircraft and be home to as many as 15 customer services managers, liaison pilots, field service representatives and mobile response technicians. This local presence provides customers with an additional level of support in conjunction with Bombardier’s extensive parts and maintenance networks as well as its expert in-service engineering teams and 24/7 Customer Response Centres.

“Russia is an extremely important region for Bombardier,” said Éric Martel, President, Bombardier Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft. “This location will strengthen the support presence on the ground. We are signalling to our existing and potential customers our commitment to building lasting relationships. Operators of Bombardier aircraft in the region will be able to count on local responsive assistance, to address their specific aftermarket priorities.

“Over the next 20 years, our 2012 Market Forecast estimates industry deliveries of 1,550 business aircraft to Russia and the CIS countries and 2,240 commercial aircraft to Europe, Russia and the CIS countries,” he added.

Support provided to Bombardier customers located in Russia and the CIS countries in recent months has been steadily increasing. Bombardier recently named Tulpar Technic of Kazan, Russia as an Authorized Service Facility (ASF) for Bombardier CRJ100 and CRJ200 regional jets. Another significant milestone was reached in June when the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) − commonly known by its Russian acronym, MAK − awarded aircraft type approval to Bombardier’s Q400 turboprop. Bombardier has also appointed Jet Aviation-Vnukovo as an authorized business aircraft Line Maintenance Facility for its Challenger and Global Express aircraft, which is located at Moscow’s busiest business aircraft airport.

Bombardier has maintained an accelerated pace in expanding its customer support network in other regions as well. Bombardier recently expanded its commercial aircraft RSO in Munich and opened an RSO for business aircraft in Farnborough, U.K. in July. Other Bombardier RSO locations for business aircraft include Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Hong Kong; São Paulo, Brazil; and Singapore. Other RSO locations, in Munich and Tokyo serve commercial aircraft exclusively, while three RSO locations support both commercial and business aircraft operators; these are situated in Mumbai, India; Shanghai, China and Sydney, Australia.

The Bombardier group’s internationally deployed staff and support locations are complemented by regionally focused events that bring together the operator community and a cross-section of Bombardier support personnel. This past week, the Bombardier Customer Services organisation completed a successful Russian and CIS Regional Review in Moscow for operators of CRJ regional jets as well as a business aircraft Maintenance & Operations conference in Berlin.
